I enjoyed this one because I’ve questioned what I’ve heard before and I have even had someone ask me what they are supposed to believe. My answer was the only truth you’ll ever read is the Bible. Your questions can be answered there if you open your heart and just listen to what God is telling you.
Having someone convincing you if anything different is no different than someone that lies so much they actually believe their own lies to be truth.
I also enjoyed the little humor you threw in there. I actually laughed out loud. Can’t wait for next week!
"...if you open your heart and just listen to what God is telling you..."
THIS is the key. So many of us want to be told by someone physically here on this earth, and yet the real answer is given, we just have to listen to God.
Yeast, such a perfect subject for a parable. Yeast can make ground up grass seeds and water into something delicious and life sustaining or cause the death and decomposition of an unhealthy creature.
The "yeast" of pharisees and the yeast of you and I, and everyone we interact with, can be either something which builds something better, or breaks down something already built.
With discernment we can (but don't always), choose the right yeast to use, each and every day.
Thanks again Rob, until next Monday, enjoy the transitions from spring to summer, and have a blessed week.
And, of course, yeast can be used to make something that can be used for poison as well (strong wine). If we drink too much of that, we can damage our bodies, our minds, our relationships, etc.
The Pharisees and Sadducees were mislead, indoctrinated, envious, legalistic, controlling, power hungry... etc. etc. etc. Most anything they were teaching was pointing people away from the Messiah that had come to save them. Amazing stuff.
The older I get, the more I realize that nothing has changed. We witness this kind of stuff to this day. Politicians, pastors, media, etc. All of them spew a lot of bad yeast. Haha.
Looking forward to seeing you next week. It will be another challenging one for me it appears. There's some interesting things going on in Matthew 17. :)

Yes indeed.
Yes. And if we are in the word consistently, if we are "off base" with something, the Holy Spirit will show us.
