Forgiveness. Once again Rob, you've given me a different perspective to ponder. I had never made the connection between the King in the parable and God. So fitting, and it explains so much.
I am much better at forgiveness these days, but still struggle with the forgetting part. Something to work on.
And I hope you can get the audio reconfigured again.
Thanks John! Yes... the audio. Grrrr. I believe I have it back the way I had it now. We'll find out next week. Haha.
Forgiveness is a difficult one for all of us. I believe I mentioned before that for me, I don't have too much trouble forgiving and forgetting when it comes to friends, family, etc. Where I struggle is with the average "ignorant person" in society. Those who don't even know they are wronging me and/or sinning against me/mounting up a debt emotionally, or in other ways simply by their behavior; disturbing my peace (along with everyone else's). Making my town less of a nice place to live, etc. I promise... I fight every day with myself on this because my human nature says, "go take care of this!" but the Holy Spirit says, "you need to forgive these people because they don't have a clue" (even though I do know some miscreants that do terrible things and they *know* *exactly* what they are doing.
We will be revisiting forgiveness again in the future I'm sure as we continue this journey.
The forgetting is hard, I agree with John. However, I have gotten better at not dwelling on things, forgiving and letting it go. Sometimes tho, those things pop back into my head and I just remind myself to forgive and move on. Remembering that certain things are the past and no longer affect my present and future helps too.
Remembering that we have a choice is the hard part for me and most people. When we allow ourselves to "remember" things and then start dwelling on them... that's when it becomes an issue for most. When those thoughts enter, we have to do as you said, "let go." Thank you for stopping by. :)
