We will be discussing being “righteous” in public and how forgiving others is a prerequisite for being forgiven ourselves. Is saying, “I forgive you, but I won’t forget what you’ve done” the right way to handle forgiveness?
“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.” vs 1
“…Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” vs 4
“…Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” vs 6
“And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” vs 12
“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” vs 14-15
“…your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” vs 18
