Amen! Everything you shared today was so relatable. Jesus calls us to be cheerful givers — whether it’s giving materially, lending a listening ear, sharing our hearts, or simply offering our time — all without expecting anything in return.
I’ve prayed with strangers, filled gas tanks, and even given the socks off my feet. Never to be noticed or praised, and never hoping for something back. Yet somehow, every single time, the Lord already knew exactly what I needed — whether it was food, financial help, or simply someone patient enough to listen.
I listened on Spotify, just for a change. About the same, maybe slightly better audio quality.
To your points on Matthew 14, it is Jesus, holding our hand as he brings us to God. Yes sometimes, as earthly humans, we can be the conduit for something to someone who needs, but ultimately it is provided by God.
And lastly, considering Peter's test of his faith, too often we rescue people, before they truly see their dilemma. Sometimes we must be brought to the brink of drowning, of death, before we truly understand what it means to have faith.
I'm not saying we shouldn't help people during their struggles, I just understand that all things have their time and place.
